Our Story
Thoro was founded to make industrial autonomy safe, scalable, and accessible for OEMs worldwide. Drawing on decades of combined experience in mobile robotics, safety certification, and cloud software, our team saw a gap in the market - while many companies were building robots, OEMs lacked a proven, safety-rated autonomy solution that could be integrated into their existing products.
From our base in Pittsburgh’s world-leading robotics cluster, we’ve built the industry’s first safety-certified autonomy platform, now deployed globally through partnerships with Nilfisk, Big Joe, and other leading manufacturers.

Vision: To be the global standard for OEM autonomy solutions. Our goal is to make Thoro’s platform the default choice for industrial equipment manufacturers who want to launch AI-powered autonomous products without the complexity and cost of building autonomy in-house.
